Are people giving up on RBE?

are people giving up on TZM, TVP and a RBE because of a lack of action? they’ve logged on here expecting events and positive social interaction leading to positive real-world action…. and found just more discussion. they want face to face meetings, where ideas can be implemented. they want ways to create abundance so that their work/money anxiety can be dealt with. i’m no expert, but i think we can all agree that money fits every definition of an addiction. we’re TALKING about a detox and trying to figure out how to do it, but we’re NOT ACTUALLY GIVING an active detox. the addicts are showing up, strung out and looking for a way out, and all they’re finding is booklets with self-help advice and a 12 step detox program. (in the three weeks i’ve been on this network, the activity level has been on par with my collaborative poetry group on facebook with only 420 members) detoxing is not that hard, if you have an active and vibrant support network backing you, and that’s what this network is supposed to be. Vibrant and active. and i’m sorry to say that it’s not. we should be attracting the students (engineers, med students, economists and accountants… all of the students really) who would study this RBE and write academic papers about it. and frustrated entrepreneurs brimming with new ideas. and those activists that practice non-violence, because an RBE would solve many of their problems, and assist with solving others. but we don't because, like this blog, it's mostly just talk, and hypothesizing about a better world.
  and  like this.

We ARE ONE
You have a lot of great ideas , and certainly should pursue them! TZM is a group of volunteers all acting freely- so if you can attract new people to participate, or create projects that you think will benefit the movement please do.

This is an issue i find to be baggage that we carry with us as be...

Everywhere i look i see a need for a Resourced Based Economy. Everythin will be better off in a rbe.

I don't know, there is always hope. There are many great people in the world today concerned with social and environmental change. Mainstream actors and directors like Tom Shadyac and Woody Harrelson, members of The Johnson & Johnson Family and proctor and gamble have all made films about social ...

a lot of us don't post everything that we're doing on here. it's hard to keep up with all the social media! i assume many of us are working within the current system to do what we can to just raise any kind of awareness in others about sustainability. many of us can't just break off and stop the add...

I still think we need a stronger community, the one we have currently is not enough to bring about an RBE.All those people who are advocating for change should be approached and introduced to the RBE concept and maybe then it would develop some wings to spread a lot better. This is the only way to pop...

What scares me is that I really don't think many young people will actually be able to see a 'lifetime' unless there is some drastic change towards an RBE very soon.

Yeah, that's the depressing scenario but at the least we'll be the ones mostly responsible for the transition phase and I don't think we should overlook that. The journey to an RBE definitely has its merits, its an opportune setting for solutions and optimism* and that collectively we get to partici...

If you feel like you're not doing enough, put some time into one of the disruptive technologies that the movement advocates, like 3D printing (Rep[st]raps are down to ~$500 now), solar energy (There is even a financial incentive for people now, so there's not even any need for them to agree with env...

There is a truth here... I share the frustration, but am not going to give up.

I don't understand why I didn't know about all this positive 'activity'; it IS activity in that people (me at least ) are having the opportunity to learn to think differently. To expand one's awareness of what is happeni...
